Thankful Month

We've always got so much to be thankful for.  I'm glad we take time to concentrate on our blessings a bit more during the month of November.  Here's a few things we were grateful for that happened that month.

Nathan took the girls to their Activity Day daddy/daughter ball.  They had dinner, took pictures, and had a quick dance.  They all thought it was fun.
The Gardners came to visit for Thanksgiving.  It was fun to get to spend some time with their sweet girls and to meet their new little miss.  They're all pretty adorable.
Jaren loving to hold his new cousin.
For the big turkey dinner, all the Oylers, Great-grandma, and the Gardners joined us.  Ben's turkey was divine as were Mara's sweet potatoes.  Who am I kidding?  Everything was fantastic.  We're so thankful to be surrounded by kind, generous, talented people.
 The "kid table".  Crazy bunch.
 One of the "grown-up tables".
 Mia with the little one.
Tyce tried his hardest to be sweet to the baby (at times he failed miserably).  Glad we captured one of his finer moments.  He just loves to squeeze and bite babies.
One day during the Gardner's visit, we went to Caleb's and Marci's.  The kids all tried riding Caleb's homemade long board.  Pretty neat. Here is Libbie.

We also ventured to the park that day.  The kids played, and we had some races on these logs the boys were on.  I think Caleb won.  He's a show-off.
Nathan doesn't look to thrilled, but he actually did enjoy snuggling his little niece.
 Hugs all around before bedtime.
For some reason, Jaren has been begging and begging for me to buy him a coconut.  My first attempt to grant his wish failed because no one in all of Walmart could figure out how much a coconut cost.  Jaren was sad but understanding when we had to walk away empty-handed.  Thankfully, the next time we tried, there was an price tag on the thing.  So exciting!  I've never opened a coconut before so we spent some time watching a YouTube video to figure it out.
After we got it open, Jaren had a great time draining the coconut water out, and then of course he needed to drink it.  He was determined to like it, even though I thought it was pretty nasty.  Later in the day he admitted he thought it was gross too.  He and Tyce carried around pieces of the coconut for quite some time, gnawing at it's insides.
Mia participated in the wax museum at school where they had to portray an American Hero.  She chose Beverly Cleary.  She had a lot of fun learning about her, but not so much fun wearing the costume I designed for her :).
So far, we've had a mild winter (YAY!), but on several cold days, we've entertained ourselves with the trusty matchbox track.

I FINALLY made a quilt to replace the one that's been disintegrating on our bed for the last 5 or so years.  It's cozy and warm.  Can't you tell?
With our Thanksgiving Point pass, we've been taking advantage of the new Museum of Natural Curiosity.  The kids love it!
Our little scientist.  He just loves learning about creatures of all kinds.
Jaren lifting weights with Dad.  So thankful for healthy bodies.

 Mallory
Mallory and Mia participated in basketball again this year.  Both of them are great players for their teams.
