We were lucky enough to squeeze in a fun trip to San Diego to cap off our summer fun. We did Coronado Beach two days (my favorite), Sea World one day, and the Wild Animal Park another. It was so fun to be together as a family in a new place, seeing so many fun things. We stayed in downtown, and it was always an adventure trying to find our hotel each night when we were done with all our travels. We ate at a couple places Nathan had seen on "Man vs. Food" and "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives." They ended up being our favorite meals too. Here are some pictures of some our favorite times (not necessarily in the correct order).
Full vacation mode...ice cream and popsicles for lunch. Okay, maybe we were too lazy to stand in the gigantic food lines at Sea World, plus pay for food we knew our kids wouldn't eat.
Mia with her souvenir from Sea World.
It really does bring me such delight to see my kids play at the beach. So relaxing and beautiful and they entertain themselves for hours. What could be better? Not to mention we got to see dolphins playing in the water the second day we were there. Such FUN!
Mia.
So many pictures to choose from of Mallory playing at the beach. Can you tell she is loving it?
Libbie got into digging deep holes...but not too deep. Her mom is a little paranoid about her being swallowed up in the sand.
Jaren fell asleep just before we got to the beach. Here he is trying to wake up.
Claire loved digging and running from the waves.
Jaren finally warmed up to the idea of the beach. Here he is with Libbie and Daddy running from a wave.
Libbie getting paybacks for dumping a cold bucket of water on Mia. Sweet revenge.
Cute or what?
The hotel had free pop and popcorn every night. It was a major part of Libbie's itinerary each day.
Pizza in the park for dinner one night...it got a little chilly...hence the arms in the sleeves.
Before entering the Safari Park
Riding the tram.View from the top of Condor Ridge...which by the way, has no condors anywhere. Odd.
Libbie said her favorite part of the Safari Park was finding out we have a plant with our same name. Hmmm...what does that say about her feelings of the park?
My girls at Point Loma. We got there right as it was closing so we took a few snapshots and got out of there. Wished we had a little more time to explore.
More Point Loma over looking San Diego.
Phil's BBQ for dinner.
Our last morning there we found Mallory and Claire like this. I think we wore them out.
Taking a load off in our hotel room after a long car ride to California. We were on the 12th floor and you could see the bottom floor from our room. The kids loved riding the elevator and pushing the button. The port just across the street from our hotel.
Our first night in San Diego we ate at this restaurant on the harbor.
Touching the starfish at Sea World. Mallory

Yay! I've been waiting for the California post so I could hear all about your trip. It looks like a blast. You got some really great pictures. Your kids are so cute but I am always amazed/surprised by how old they are all getting. They need to stop.
P.s. the other day Brennan asked me if, once Tatum has hair, I will fix it as cute as you do every day. I assured him that wasn't possible because I won't know how. Next time we are together I'll have to take lessons from you.
Looks like you guys had so much fun!! Trips to the beach are the best!
its good that you take these vacations so that you can tell us what we should and shouldn't do when we travel. :-) Looks like a great time. And of course the kids look beautiful at the beach and every where else too.
