A couple years ago, I trained for a half marathon in Snow Canyon in Southern Utah. I ended up with a nasty flu bug and wasn't able to do the race. To say it broke my heart is an understatement. This year, we decided to try to do the race again. Nathan trained to do the race with me, along with our friends the Roblyers. Our training could have been better, but the race-day weather certainly could not have been. The course was beautiful but oh so hilly - lots of steep downhill and quite a bit of uphill. Nevertheless, we survived and had a good time. We stayed at a very nice condo village and were able to enjoy the pool after our race (well some of us enjoyed the pool :) It was warm, but not warm enough for this wimp to get in). The kids had a blast, and I couldn't help but wonder why I don't live in such a warm place. Still trying to master the art of "savoring winter". Is that possible?
After the pool, we met the Roblyers for dinner...13 kids + 4 adults = quite the spectacle. We lost count of how many drinks were spilled and how many times Anne's meal had to be fixed because they couldn't get the poor girl's salad right. Again, we survived and even had a pretty good time. It was established however that eating out without the kiddos is a tad bit more relaxing.
Enjoying some relaxation.
Sunday we attended church at a local ward then headed back to Snow Canyon for a little exploring. This has got to be one of my favorite places and so fun for the kids.
Everyone needed to take turns sitting in little cavities...even Tyce.
