Our adoption of Tyce was finalized last week! Because our appointment was after school, we were able to take all the kiddos with us. Judge Davis was very kind to us. After all the formalities, he invited Tyce to come wear his robe and have a picture with him. He then took Jaren to his bench and let him hold his gavel.
After we took all our pictures, he invited us to go see his chambers. He had nearly every piece of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia know to man. After we had all filed in, Nathan managed to accidentally bump a side table in the doorway that was covered in breakable Lincoln stuff. Whew! It was mighty scary, but thankfully nothing was damaged, including a ceramic plate that fell to the floor.
Judge Davis was just so gracious to our crazy bunch throughout the whole thing. He talked of Tyce's birthmother - her courageous choice to give him life, and then to place him in a better situation. We are also so grateful to her for blessing our lives with this sweet boy. What a fantastic day!
