April

This year Jaren has declared he'll be playing for the Jazz when he gets big.  He's asked Dad if he'll buy tickets to the games so we can come watch him.  He's looking pretty official in this picture.

Spring break keeps landing right in the last couple weeks of tax season so we try to make do without our dad to help us party hard.  This year we started out the week right by eating breakfast at Cubby's.

On Tuesday we met up with Marci and her boys in Park City.  One of the business clients allowed us to use two of their condos for a few nights.  It wasn't the warmest spot to vacation to, but we made it work and had a fun time together.  After unpacking, we went for a quick, very windy, chilly walk before heading off to dinner.

All the cousins humoring their mothers by posing on this fun tree.
The kids chose pizza and burgers for our first dinner.  They had a plethora of beer cans displayed on the walls. The food was pretty decent.

After some super cold swimming (says the person who stood poolside in a coat and gloves) we got showered, played games, and ate treats. Then off to bed for more fun in the morning.

We started the next morning at the Park City Museum.  They have a lot hands-on ways to learn about the history of the town.

Then we did some souvenir shopping.  Tyce and Finn were digging on these sweet hats.
Lunchtime...the kids chose....pizza and burgers. And would you check out the decor?  Beer cans and random snapshots on the walls. Ha ha.  We thought for sure we had accidentally chose a sister store to the place we'd had dinner the night before.  Nope. Marci asked the waiter and they were completely separate companies.

We love to torture our children.  Hiking, hiking, hiking.  Lucky for them, it was still a little early in the season and all the hikes we tried were either too muddy or just plain closed. They were thrilled.  Instead we took a little jaunt on a trail and then played on a pretty sweet fitness-centered playground.

 Resting their weary little legs.

 Marci's got skilzz.

The kids LOVED the pool.  It was the clear high-light of each day. Apparently the water was really warm.   I never found out since I'm a water wimp and the thought of having to walk in the the cold back to the condo was just too much for my to bear. Lame-o mom.

Day three started out at Olympic Park.

Then we tried to find a park without much success. We landed at this patch of wood chips with a climbing rock in the middle of it....interesting.
Then we happened upon this little french style bakery where we sampled some of their delights.  I'm still dreaming of the ginormous cupcake I inhaled.
Then for some playing at the condo and a matinee at the theater.  Boss baby wasn't very awesome.    We did end up at a fun park after the movie though.

Mia wasn't too thrilled to see bugs buzzing around her.
Marci and I chose Mexican food for dinner.  We were all thinking we should have split meals for sure when the food arrived.  The platters of meat for our fajitas could have fed a small army.

I love this picture of Libbie and Gavin.  Gavin looks quite concerned by something that lays before him.
We finished out the day at the pool.  Chicken fights and everything.  Pretty fierce I tell ya. Jaren ended up with a horrible earache around 10:00 that night and was up for several hours crying.  Poor guy.  I was hoping in the morning he'd feel better but to no avail he was still writhing in pain so we headed for home really quick.  But not before Mallory posed on the grand staircase (squeakiest, creakiest, loudest stairs known to man).
