Mallory turned 9 this summer. Holy Cow these kids grow up so fast! We started off her day at the park in Lehi with Marci and her boys for some lunch and playground playing. Doesn't she look so cute and grown up? After Nathan got off work, she decided we should go to a trampoline park. It started off great. Lots of fun for everyone! After about an hour, I decided to be smart and tell Nathan he should do the tight rope that hung about a foam pit. He took the challenge, walked a few steps along the rope and jumped down to the pit below. Unfortunately, he hit the bottom and immediately knew he'd done some damage to his ankle. We let the kids play a bit more until he couldn't take the pain anymore. He hobbled to the car, and we made our way home. Of course this happened on a Friday night so our only option for medical care was instacare. We had to leave the birthday girl and put her party on hold until we could find out how extensive his injury was.
Yep, it was broken. Dang. Super bummer summer. I'm not sure why he's smiling in this picture. I think he was delirious.
Because Mallory is awesome, she wanted tomato soup and grilled cheese for her birthday dinner. Amongst all the evening's chaos this turned out to be such a blessing! Mallory loves zebras so that's the kind of cake she chose. I even found a cool technique on Pinterest to make the inside all zebra-ey. We love our spunky, sweet Mallory. She was so patient and understanding when her special day was high-jacked by her parents' silliness.
